A store where invoices and waybills no longer live in a separate program

We rebuilt the Straumes AB store from scratch — new design, online payments, invoice and waybill generation, CRM and SEO. The team could leave the outdated accounting tool behind, because invoices and waybills now come from the store.

The challenge

The store sold, but invoices lived somewhere else

Straumes AB on Rankas iela 7 in Riga has sold rust protection for years — RUST STOP and DINITROL — and professional repair chemicals. The site could not carry it: the design was dated, the shop did not work as a shop, and every order then had to be retyped into an outdated accounting program to issue an invoice or a waybill.

That had three consequences. First, the client paid twice — once in the shop, again in the office. Second, mismatches between the order and the invoice were almost inevitable. Third, marketing could not run SEO: copy, URLs and product pages were not in the team's hands.

The old system was not empty — it already had products, prices and customers. The problem was that the shop, invoices and CRM did not work as one chain.

What we did

Eight workstreams

A full rebuild with a new design

We built a custom WordPress theme from scratch — not a template with a logo stuck on. The home page leads to the rust-protection service or the shop. The site looks like Straumes AB, not a typical WooCommerce store.

A store with 190+ products

The catalogue holds DINITROL, RUST STOP, AVISTA, REKTOL, NPT, Teroson, Loctite and other lines — rust protection, adhesives, oils, aerosols, hygiene. Categories, promotions and product pages the team runs themselves.

Online payments

An order can be paid at once. No waiting for an invoice by email before delivery or pickup on Rankas iela starts. Payment, order and customer stay in one record.

Invoices that come from the store

The invoice is generated from the order — no retyping into the old accounting program. Number, amount and customer match what the buyer sees. The team could stop using the old tool for invoices.

Waybills in the same chain

The waybill follows the invoice from the same order. Warehouse and delivery do not work from a separate spreadsheet. What leaves the door on Rankas iela is the same record the customer sees.

A CRM that sees the store

Customers, orders and rust-treatment bookings live in one system. The team sees what a customer has bought, what they booked in the workshop and what still needs a reminder — without a separate CRM on the side.

SEO the team can run themselves

Titles, descriptions, URLs and product copy are in the team's hands. The rust-protection service and the shop are not one page — each topic has its own clear page that can compete in search.

Content migration

We moved products, prices, categories and copy so the new site did not launch empty. What already worked in the old shop stayed — without retyping SKU by SKU.

The result

What works differently now

  • Order, invoice and waybill are one record — not three systems
  • The outdated accounting program is no longer needed for invoices
  • The customer can pay at once — without waiting for an invoice by email
  • 190+ products and the rust-protection service live in one store
  • Content and SEO changes happen without a developer
  • The CRM sees the same customers as the shop and the workshop
  • The mobile experience is built separately, not scaled down from desktop

The site is publicly live at straumesab.lv. We will add traffic and conversion figures once the first full season cycle has run — so the comparison with the old shop is fair.

All works

Three steps to a proposal

No long intro. Usually one conversation is enough to understand scope and timing.

  1. Tell us the goal

Enquiries, sales, speed or automation. A short note is enough.

  2. A short consult

Goal, audience and what you already have. Usually one conversation.

  3. Proposal

Scope, timing and the next step — before we write code.
