A website where the store and the content can finally be changed by the team

We rebuilt the Videoprojekts Baltija website and store from scratch — new design, mobile version, SEO and content migration. The previous build had left a shop that was hard to run and copy that was hard to edit. The team now does that themselves.

The site in motion

Services and a store on one site

On desktop — services, case work and the catalogue in a single view. On a phone — enquiry, store and cart designed for the thumb.

The challenge

The site was there, but it could not be maintained

Videoprojekts Baltija on Elijas iela 17 in Riga has designed, installed and serviced CCTV and security systems across Latvia since 2010. Clients are municipalities and companies. The site could not carry that: the previous build had left a bad experience — the store was hard to manage, and changing content was a real task, not a few clicks.

That had three consequences. First, every new product or copy fix went through a developer. Second, the shop did not work as a shop — the catalogue was hard to keep in order, and the team did not trust it. Third, marketing could not run SEO: URLs, titles and service pages were not in the team's hands.

The old system was not empty — it already had products, services and customers. The problem was that the site could not be changed safely without the previous team.

What we did

Seven workstreams

A full rebuild with a new design

We built a custom WordPress theme from scratch — not a template with a logo stuck on. The home page leads to a service or the shop. The site looks like Videoprojekts, not a typical security-company template.

A store the team can run

The catalogue holds 180+ products — EZVIZ, Hikvision, AJAX and other lines. Categories, prices and product pages the team manages themselves. The shop is no longer a separate system they are afraid to touch.

Content editing without a developer

Pages, services, news and contact are editable from the panel. Changing a sentence is not a ticket to the previous agency. That was the main thing the client wanted after the bad experience.

A mobile version, not a squeezed copy

The phone screen is designed on its own: enquiry, store and navigation fit the thumb. A large share of enquiries come from a phone — so mobile was not leftover work.

SEO the team can run themselves

Titles, descriptions, URLs and product copy are in the team's hands. CCTV, city security and the shop are not one page — each topic has its own clear page.

Content migration

We moved products, service copy and content so the new site did not launch empty. What already worked in the old system stayed — without retyping SKU by SKU.

Eight service directions

City security, CCTV, alarm systems, access control, radar, industrial systems, networks and optics, computers. Each direction is its own page, not a line in a long list.

The result

What works differently now

  • The team changes copy and products themselves — without the previous developer
  • The store is manageable: 180+ products, categories and prices in one panel
  • Eight service directions are separate pages that can compete in search
  • A new design that looks like Videoprojekts, not a template
  • The mobile experience is built separately, not scaled down from desktop
  • Content and SEO changes happen without a developer
  • The old content was moved — the site did not launch empty

The site is publicly live at videoprojekts.lv. We will add traffic and conversion figures once the first full season cycle has run — so the comparison with the old site is fair.

All works

Three steps to a proposal

No long intro. Usually one conversation is enough to understand scope and timing.

  1. Tell us the goal

Enquiries, sales, speed or automation. A short note is enough.

  2. A short consult

Goal, audience and what you already have. Usually one conversation.

  3. Proposal

Scope, timing and the next step — before we write code.
